Speed up Growth by Optimising with the FREE MyDodeca Tool

12Faces believes there are 12 aspects to your Business and your Personal Skills, as the Business Leader, that govern the sustainable success of your business. Not all of these are equally important.  Just 1 or 2 aspects, at any point in time, will contribute most to achieving your Sustainable Business Success Goals. Our FREE MyDodeca tool will show you how to identify these main focus points.

12Faces docedahedronWhat does Dodeca mean?

You will be familiar with a Rubik’s cube and its 6 faces.  The challenge is to get the same colour on every cell on a face of the cube.

We think there are 12 faces to  the enterprise a Business Leader is running:

  • Six relate to the Business
    • Revenue creation: like sales, pricing, product range
    • Operations: like workflow, variable costs, inventory
    • Overheads: like office costs
    • Systems: like IT and accounting
    • People Issues: like motivation, hiring and
    • Finances: like cashflow
  • Six relate to the Leader and their Team.  They come under Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to improve the personal skills required to run a successful business:
    • Decision making skills
    • Self Management: like time management and working efficiently and effectively
    • Leadership: of and by staff
    • Planning: to maximise Sustainable Business success; however success is measured
    • Performance Measurement: to identify weak spots and measure their improvement
    • Workflow Efficiencies: like wasted work, production co-ordination

A 12 faced figure in geometry is called a Dodecahedron.  We refer to our 12 faced approach by the catchy term “Dodeca“.

Our Mission is to get each face of your Dodeca showing green for good health.

How do we Prioritise Which Dodeca Faces to Work on?

You are unlikely to progress very fast if you try to work on improving every face of your Dodeca at the same time.

The facts about Multitasking mean you are going to work very inefficiently!

Also, not every face is equally important in taking your business forward as fast as possible.

The FREE downloadable MyDodeca tool helps you find the most important things to focus on in just a few minutes.

As critical aspects of your business improve, others will take their place.  Just “rinse and repeat” the MyDodeca process as often as you like to maximise the speed your business improves.

Three steps is all it takes to tune your Dodeca

Step 1:  give a score from 1-10 to each of the 12 Dodeca faces indicating how healthy you think it is.  Let’s say your Revenue is poor and scores 3 out of 10.  On the other hand, you are happy with your Planning process so it gets a 9 out of 10.

Step2:  give a score from 1-10 to each of the 12 Dodeca faces on how much impact improvements to this face might make to your business.  Let’s say Revenue gets a 10 because it has a very big impact but Planning has a lower impact, we give it a 4.

Step 3: combine  the two scores for each face together to measure the importance of each.  We call this the “Opportunity” as it reflects the extent of the opportunity to improve your business.
In our example, once combined, Revenue scores 70 out of a possible 100 and Planning scores 40 out of 100.

Don’t worry about the maths.
The FREE downloadable MyDodeca tool does that for you
And for all 12 faces of your Dodeca – in just a few minutes.

The Opportunity for work on Revenue to improve your business is 70, or almost twice the Opportunity arising from working on Planning at 40.  It clearly makes sense to focus on improving Revenue before you work on polishing your Planning.

Over time, the relative Opportunity for each of your 12 Dodeca faces will change.  You take this into account by doing the process again.

We encourage you to do this monthly, in a fast changing business, and quarterly in a slower changing business.
