Two of the tools used to give guidance to team members on what is expected of them and what is important to the owner are;

  • KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):  these are set as targets for the team member to meet or exceed.  Often for performance evaluation and sometimes linked to pay and bonuses
  • OKRs (Objectives and Key Results):  made famous by their use in Google, they show the Objectives of an individual or a project and the most important results expected from the activity or person.
