C4.2.2 Deciding on Priority Work Areas

Your focus here:
Work on the most important areas of your business turnaround first. By deciding on priority work areas, you start to get relief as quickly as possible.

There will be many potential activities competing for your attention. It is easy to get overwhelmed by the seemingly endless number of things that have to be done.

How Do I Set Priority Work Areas?

To overcome this “analysis paralysis”, we have distilled an approach, that works for us, into several prioritising steps.

These are outlined in the article on “How to Prioritise Work” tasks. Please read this before progressing further.

Now Set Your Priority Work Areas

In the article mentioned above, you have learnt how to list all the things that are candidates as activities to turnaround your business.

Now, make that list for your business and prioritise them as best you can.

Write a list of your priority work areas in Word (or similar) so that you can easily edit it. Or, add them to a spreadsheet.
Alternatively, use a mindmap program named Mindomo. This is our preference. It is free and can appear on any device so you can play with it when convenient.

Take time to rank your priorities carefully.
As that will govern how quickly your Turnaround90 strategy will have a significant impact on your business.
